Psypioneer Newsletter Changes Hands
By Leslie Price
Paul Gaunt has become the proprietor of the
online
Psypioneer Newsletter, which he has been editing since August 2005.
The Newsletter was founded by Leslie Price in 2004, but he has been
unable to continue because of health and work complications. Among the
120 subscribers are historians, editors and presidents in three
continents.
The Newsletter specialises in reprinting biographical material about
prominent persons in earlier generations such as Emma Hardinge Britten,
Andrew Jackson Davis and Stainton Moses. It has been an important centre
for the new analysis of the Hydesville phenomena begun by
Barbara Weisberg’s recent biography of the Fox sisters. In April
2005 it reprinted a PDF version of
Mysterious Noises (163k) the original report on the phenomena by
local attorney E. E. Lewis. At present it is republishing the lost first
booklet of Andrew Jackson Davis, Clairmativeness.
Commenting on the change, Leslie Price said:
"Paul showed by his reinvestigation of the
origin of the SNU's Seven Principles that he brings a penetrating eye to
these old records, and his search last year for the reality behind the
variously named Hydesville peddler consolidated his historical
reputation. I am confident that the Newsletter will continue to grow in
stature."
