Mediums

Frank Herne

well-known BRITISH Medium. His first séances were given in January, 1869. He gave clairvoyant descriptions of the spirits and of the sitter's aura. Physical manifestations soon developed. In 1870 at the house of Dr. Dixon he was elongated. Miss Florence Cook held her first sittings with Herne. In 1871 he joined partnership with Charles Williams. Their séances at 61 Lamb's Conduit Street, London, were very powerful. Voices, psychic lights, independent music, apports and levitations were often witnessed. Mrs. Guppy's famous transportation occurred in one of these joint sittings. In 1875 Mr. St. George Stock made an attempt at Herne's exposure. Two years later in The Spiritualist he apologised for the part he played.
