Stanley de Brath 

1854-1937


     NOTABLE BRITISH psychical researcher, served 17 years in India as an engineer in Government service, retired on a good-service pension in 1894 and worked for 20 years as Headmaster of a preparatory school in East Grinstead. 

Made his first acquaintance with the phenomena of spiritualism in 1890 through Cecil Husk, carried on extensive research and ended by fully accepting survival and the occurrence of supernormal phenomena. After the war he worked at the Institut Metapsychique in collaboration with Dr. Gustave Geley. Editor of Psychic Science, the quarterly of the British College for Psychic Science. 

Translated many classic works such as Dr. Charles Richet's Thirty Years of Psychical Research, Dr. Gustave Geley's Clairvoyance and Materialisation and From the Unconscious to the Conscious, Dr. Eugene Osty's Supernormal Faculties in Man, Prof. Baron von Schrenck-Notzing's, Phenomena of Materialisations and Animism and Spiritualism by Ernesto Bozzano.
